Your therapist will complete a biomechanical and gait assessment, as well as take a scan of your feet in order to obtain your best fit and ensure Custom Foot Orthotics are appropriate for your condition.

Orthotics are recommended for:
- Joint pain in the toes, foot, ankles, knees, hips or back when standing, walking or running
- People standing and working on concrete/hard surfaces
- People who play sports regularly
- People with diabetes
- People with foot problems such as bunions, corns, fallen arches, etc.
- People with bow-legs or knock-knees
- People who suffer from sore feet on a regular basis

Will These Be Covered?
Most insurance companies will cover Custom Foot Orthotics with a prescription from a medical doctor, which can be obtained via virtual appointment. All orthotics are required to be paid in full by the customer and submitted to insurance with the appropriate paperwork.

John is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s MSc in Physiotherapy program, building on a BSc in Kinesiology (Distinction) and years of experience in fitness and movement coaching. He helps patients recover from pain and injury, with a particular focus on the neck, back, and shoulders while addressing all areas of the body to support full recovery and improved movement.

John combines hands-on care, guided exercises, and clear education to create personalized recovery plans tailored to each individual’s goals. Known for his approachable and down-to-earth personality, he simplifies complex concepts into actionable steps, helping patients feel confident and reassured throughout their recovery.

His background includes working with Paralympic athletes in adapted physical activity and tutoring biomechanics and exercise science. Outside the clinic, John volunteers as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and as a ski coach with the Nordic Club of Edmonton. In his free time, he enjoys cross-country skiing, strength training, and experimenting in the kitchen.
