Marissa is a Registered Provisional Psychologist at our Edmonton Terwillegar Physiotherapy clinic, passionate about supporting individuals as they reconnect with their inner strength and wisdom on the path toward meaningful change. She believes that many of life’s answers already lie within her clients—and that her role is to guide, support, and help bring those insights to the surface.

With a calm, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach, Marissa creates a welcoming space where clients feel safe to explore their emotions, process challenges, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Before becoming an Edmonton psychologist, Marissa worked with both children and adults in multiple research labs at the University of Alberta and volunteered with the SACE crisis line, where she received specialized training in supporting individuals through sexual trauma. These experiences gave her a solid academic foundation, deep empathy, and a strong understanding of the complexities people face.

Marissa uses a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, and person-centered techniques, while also incorporating a biopsychosocial lens to look at the whole person—not just their symptoms. She welcomes the integration of spirituality into therapy for those who value it, always tailoring sessions to reflect what’s most meaningful to each individual.

Clients often describe Marissa’s sessions as approachable and grounding—especially helpful for those who feel anxious about beginning therapy. Her thoughtful balance of clinical insight, warmth, and gentle humor helps people feel comfortable and empowered in their healing journey.

Outside of the clinic, Marissa enjoys photography, spending time in nature, and weight training. She shares her life with her fun-loving corgi mix, Spruce, and the two of them are always up for a new outdoor adventure.
